Official Selection: 2022 Ada Film Festival | September 16/17, 2022 ] Ada, Oklahoma

My short film, Sheol, will be making its Oklahoma festival debut during the weekend of September 16/17, 2022 in Ada, Oklahoma. This will be the first festival since its premiere at the Made in Arkansas Film Festival.

This is exciting for a few reasons. It's my latest completed film and the first festival in several years from new material. The last film that I screened at a film festival was Ladies Night and that screened at the 2021 Fort Smith International Film Festival. That film had a festival run that started in 2016.

What makes the AdaFest screening so special is that it is screening about 60 miles west of where I grew up in McAlester, Oklahoma. This should be a fun road trip.

Sheol has been in the works for several years. In fact, I didn't complete it until April of this year, due to audio issues. Once that was resolved, I scored it, completed the sound design and visual effects, and finally had it color corrected. It took 7 years to complete this film.

Here is a little more about the film festival:

AdaFest Film Festival is part of AdaFest regional music, film, arts, and cultural festival held annually in Ada, Oklahoma. It is hosted by HMA Foundation in cooperation with East Central University.

AdaFest is FREE to the public because of generous donations from sponsors as well as the incalculable support of ECU and our many volunteers.

All Screenings will be held in the Chalmers Herman Theatre located in the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center.
